Admission Policy :
A certain number of seats are reserved for each of the following categories:
Pakistan Nationals (Local Students)
Applicants who have passed their High School from Pakistan.
Pakistan Nationals Resident Abroad (PNRA)
Pakistan nationals who have passed their High School from outside Pakistan.
Foreign Students
Applicants who are not Pakistan Nationals.
Minimum requirements for applying for all categories of seats are :
- Intermediate Science (Premedical) Examination passed with 60% marks or above from a recognized Board of Intermediate Examination for MBBS Program and "Pass" for BDS.
- BSc. (Biological Sciences), with Grade A+ and Grade A.
- A/O levels, American High School or equivalent examinations.
- Students who have completed their education outside the Pakistan Intermediate system must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen in Islamabad. You may apply before obtaining this certificate, but admission will be conditional.
Local candidates will be required to appear in the Jinnah Medical College Entrance Test. Selected students will then appear for an interview, during which they will be assessed for attributes including general knowledge, communications skills, general demeanor and attitude.
Final selection will be based on Academic Record, Entrance Test and Interview. Students applying for PNRA and Foreign seats are not required to sit for the Entrance Test.
Admission Procedure :
The following are required to be submitted at the time of application:
- Completed Application form
- Personal Statement (150 words or less)
- Two recent, color, passport size photos
- Application Fee :
- Students applying for a PNRA or Foreign seat should include a bank draft of $100 made out to "S.M.Sohail Trust" to cover processing charges.
- Application fee for local seat is Rs. 1000 which covers prospectus processing and examination charges.
Photocopies of the following documents should be attested
- Passport / Domicile certificate
- Applicant's National ID card or B form with father's ID card
- Result of SSC or equivalent
- Result of HSC or equivalent
- Equivalence Certificate, if available.
